Plein air painting is Sandra's way of being a part of the natural world. She sets out with light gear, small panels and oil paints (resilient in extreme weather) and a supplicant heart. Standing in the changing jumble of branches and weeds she tries to frame what speaks to the human eye.

What Sandra achieves is evidence of a meditation that is its own reward. Occasionally it is finished on site but often studio work brings the piece closer to satisfaction.
