MURAL, the Mount Utsayantha Regional Arts League, is honored to host: “Uncommon Creatures” an exhibition featuring Bertha Rogers' 'Illuminations and Translations of the Anglo-Saxon Riddle-Poems from the Exeter Book.' "Uncommon Creatures" will be on view at the MURAL on Main Gallery, located at 631 Main Street, Hobart, NY 13788, from Saturday, August 24 through Sunday, October 6, 2019. In addition, MURAL will host an Opening Reception and Reading on Saturday, August 24, from 2-4 pm, and a Riddle Poem Workshop on Saturday, September 21, from 10am-1pm.
Bertha Rogers, named First Poet Laureate of Delaware County, New York, in March 2005, is a poet, translator, visual artist, and master teaching artist. She has been, for many years, a poet and visual artist in residence for arts in education programs in schools, workshops, and colleges, including Hartwick College, SUNY Potsdam, and Wells College.
The reception on August 24 will include refreshments and is free to the public. Pre-registration is requested for the workshop on September 21, please contact MURAL for more information. “Uncommon Creatures” will be on view through October 6, 2019.
